THE MV-1 WHEELS ACROSS AMERICA TOUR ARRIVES IN BOSTON

First Factory-Built, Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle In Town for Bostonians to Experience

WHAT:                 A new American car company, The Vehicle Production Group, is unveiling the revolutionary MV-1 vehicle on the streets of Boston as part of a 27 city road show tour. The MV-1 will make a stop at both Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Natick Collection in Natick, Mass. Interested consumers will be able to experience firsthand the vehicle’s unparalleled accessibility and learn about its car-like ride and comfort with truck-like safety and durability.

                                The events will feature:

·         First showing of a production quality MV-1 vehicle for media and consumers to experience the vehicle’s versatility and capability, including the deployable access ramp and spacious 36-inch entryway

·         A mobile MV-1 exhibit, with interactive displays, all of which are ADA-compliant. Generally this means that all are at the proper height to allow for wheelchair users to access the information

·         Opportunity for consumers to place a MV-1 reservation

WHY:                    In the state of Massachusetts, 11.3 percent of all residents have some form of disability.* For these individual with mobility disabilities, routine activities such as traveling in a vehicle present a significant obstacle in the daily lives. Even as the country marks the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) this month, there still is a large gap in transportation options for people with mobility disabilities.
