School Committee Member Wants to Freeze then Lower Athletic Fees

Winthrop School Committee member William Holden wants to freeze current athletic fees, and also wants to lower them for the future. He also aims to make one sport affordable for all students for each season, for both male and female players. The fees have skyrocketed, jumping from $50 per sport in 1999 to $425 per student in 2009. Past years have been alleviated some by donations from the Viking Pride Foundation, but this year has seen no donations to date.
