Kate Genovese to Speak at Winthrop Library February 10

Update - this will take place on February 23rd!

Library talks are hit or miss in regards to attendance, one never knows if a storm will keep people from coming to the lecture or if holidays or special events keep people home, but on Tuesday January 26, 2010 noted Woburn author Kate Genovese spoke to a full Meeting Room at the Reading Public library where dozens of people listened attentively to her compelling chat about her life, the writing of four books (three of them published, one hidden away in her files - her autobiography!), and her life as a nurse.

The author/lecturer spoke on December 10, 2009 at the Malden Public Library - a different setting with the lights down and Genovese speaking to members of that community.

The Reading meeting room was well-lit with a beautiful blue spotlight on the wall behind the speaker as she discussed the awakening of Molly O'Brien, the protagonist in her newest novel, "Two Weeks Since My Last Confession." With the topic of teenage pregnancy back in the news due to the airing of The Pregnancy Pact, a film based on the recent Gloucester story on multiple teen-age pregnancies, Genovese's lectures have become all the more noteworthy. That she's terrific at these get togethers is a testament to her skills as a speaker as well as an author. Genovese will be speaking at the Winthrop Public Library on February 23, 2010 at 7 PM. It will be a book talk and public signing event.
