Songs of Old New England at Winthrop Public Library
Winthrop Public Library at 7 PM
Thursday December 17
Winthrop Public Library will be hosting 'To Drive the Cold Winter Away', a free concert of traditional and contemporary New England folk music for the season by Yankee Notions.
Yankee Notions is Jim Douglas (vocals, guitar, English concertina) and Tim Van Egmond (vocals, hammered dulcimer, pennywhistle, Appalachian dulcimer). Widely known for music and song that 'please the ear and warm the heart,' Yankee Notions has performed throughout the Northeast for more than 20 years, entertaining audiences of all ages at festivals, coffeehouses, community concerts, schools, libraries, and historic sites such as Old Sturbridge Village, Mystic Seaport, Plimoth Plantation, Historic Deerfield, Old Bethpage Village and the Museum of Our National Heritage.
This concert is supported by a grant from the Winthrop Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
