Monday, February 1
9:17 a.m. - Officers have a neighbor
remove a truck that is blocking a
sidewalk on Shirley Street.
12:02 p.m. - A caller reports a
possible case of domestic abuse on
Beach Road. When officers arrive,
the tenant says her ex-boyfriend had
just left. She provides no further
information. She is informed of her
rights to obtain a 209A.
2:15 p.m. - A woman reports that
her 9-year-old was assaulted by a
school bus driver in November. She
said she is “not satisfied” with the
investigation by the School Dept.
She is given a victim/witness form
to fill out.
Tuesday, February 2
9:54 a.m. - Officers are asked
to BOLO for a car registered to
a Winthrop resident for possible
involvement in the larceny of copper.
Car was eventually located, but
nothing was found.
12:12 p.m. - A woman calls to
report that her brother, who had just
abruptly left his job, is “possibly
distraught” and might need medical
attention. WFD and EMTs respond,
but the man is not there.
3:23 p.m. - Offices disperse a
group of approximately 25 people in
the Lower Cemetery.
4:13 p.m. - A man calls to report
that someone just threw a rock that
smashed a window on his house on
Bowdoin Street. A search reveals no
suspects.
5:17 p.m. - A Bellevue Ave. resident
reports that his landlord is opening
his mail, including envelopes
containing two $200 checks. The
man also provided a voicemail from
the landlord, who said he opened the
mail by accident.
Wednesday, February 3
9:49 a.m. - Officers take a report
from a Girdlestone Road resident
who reported that her daughter
entered her home, assaulted her, and
stole articles of clothing.
9:56 a.m. - A woman reports that
she received a call from someone
saying she had won a lottery. The
caller instructed her to send money
to an out-of-state location for tax
purposes. No more information is
available.
2:08 p.m. - A Washington Avenue
resident reports that his vehicle was
vandalized for the second time in the
past two weeks. The incident happened
the previous night.
14:28 p.m. - DPW reports that
a street light at Dean and Quincy
avenues has been shot out a BB gun.
Police received a call earlier in the
day about a window being shot at
with a similar type of weapon.
3:19 p.m. - A child care program
in town calls to report that a woman,
who might be intoxicated, is trying to
pick up her child. School will file a
51A. The matter is resolved between
DSS, the mother and the child’s
family.
4:30 p.m. - A woman calls to
report that two youths are making
racial remarks to people walking
in the area of Michael’s Mall on
Putnam Street. Officer reports the
area is clear.
Thursday, February 4
1:45 a.m. - A Dolphin Avenue
resident reports that his neighbor’s
dogs constantly bark. He said he has
spoken to the neighbor, as well as
animal control.
10:02 a.m. - DPW is informed
that there are nails on the street at
Main and Pleasant streets. The person
responsible for the spill returned
to the area and cleared it.
2:52 p.m. - A caller reports youths
entering the vacant Dun-Rite building
on Somerset Avenue. Youths are sent
home, and the owner (East Boston
Health Center) will send someone to
secure the door.
5:44 p.m. - A party reports being
threatened by a former friend over
money. Party declines to pursue
charges, but wants the matter recorded.
Friday, February 5
9:22 a.m. - EMTs from Action
Ambulance report that, while their
ambulance was parked on Shirley
Street, it was hit by an unknown
vehicle. The ambulance’s driver’s
side mirror was smashed.
10:22 - A Pearl Avenue resident
reports being attacked by his neighbor’s
dog. A victim/witness statement
is taken and the ACO is informed.
2:20 p.m. - A caller reports a
two-year-old chold “wandering the
street.” Officers respond and find
the child in good condition. Mother
informs officers that, while she was
in the bathroom, the toddler left the
apartment.
Saturday, February 6
12:15 a.m. - Officers respond to
a call of a woman screaming from
the top of Sunset Road. The 22-yearold
woman reports being distraught
over her a situation involving her
boyfriend. Her parents are there and
bring her inside their home.
12:47 a.m. - Caller reports three
cars speeding around Shirley Street.
Officers respond, and find the cars
parked near the public landing.
1:24 a.m. - A caller reports a party
of about 100 people on Grovers
Avenue. Officers respond and report
no problems and that the party is
coming to an end.
1:53 a.m. - A caller reports that
a parked car on Cliff Avenue keeps
revving up. Party informs officer that
he will take a taxi to Chelsea.
11:43 a.m. - A Postal Service
employee reports that he was nearly
struck by a Comcast truck while
crossing the street at Marshall Street
and Tileston Road. The Comcast
truck is not in the area when officers
respond.
1:46 p.m. - A Veterans Road resident
reports that her neighbor was
banging a hammer on the floor and
disturbing her while she was cooking.
She wants the matter placed on
file. 3:59 p.m. - A Grandview Avenue
resident reports that his car was struck
while it was parked on Woodside
Avenue. The car sustained damage to
the front, driver’s side quarter panel.
7:28 p.m. - An Ingleside Avenue
resident reports that people had
entered his home without permission.
Officers respond and find relatives
of the homeowner on the premises.
Situation is cleared up, and one
juvenile is escorted home.
Sunday, February 7
12:08 p.m. - A dispute between a
tenant and landlord is reported via
911. Officers respond and tenant
informs them that he is leaving for
the day.
1:37 p.m. - A woman reports that
her grandson, who she had reported
missing, has returned safe and
sound.
5:38 p.m. - A Bayou Street resident
calls to report receiving a very
obscene phone call. Attempts to
call the number from the station are
unsuccessful.
